Nowadays, learning a second (especially English) is one of the necessities of life. Second language acquisition is even more important if you are talking about children. Researches have shown that children can learn a foreign language better than adults. Children, normally start learning their mother language at their 6 month. But, what's mainly important to discuss, the best age for a child to learn a second language. Due to what is said by the psychologists the best ages for children to learn a second language is between 1-8 years old. During this ages the child can adept much more better with the way of using and the accent of the new language. After the age of ten, the ability for learning a new language starts decreasing in children.

Children with slower process in learning a new language:
But, these statements do not apply for the children with delays in learning their mother language between the ages 1-3. Children with disorder in their mother tongue should be visited by a pathologist in order for a determination for learning a new language. What is important to focus on is that they should not be sent to language classes without awareness of this disorder, otherwise they will face problems in both their mother tongue and the new language.

Benefits of second-language acquisition:
One the most important benefits along with learning a second-language is the increasment in the child's ability for communicating much more easily with others. Learning a foreign language can help students opening new horizons to improve themselves. Another advantage of learning a new language in young ages is the better (job) positions that they may face with, comparing to others.
