The impacts of learning a second language on EQ and creativity:

The impacts of learning a second language on EQ and creativity:

In the past it was said that growing up in a bilingual environment can have negative effects on a child's cognitive abilities. But nowadays, researches has shown that learning a second or third language especially at young ages can have some great impacts on a child. One the most important of this effects is the impact and connection of a new language with a person's EQ and creativity.
"EQ or Emotional Intelligence is the level of your ability to understand other people, what motivates them and how to work cooperatively with them," says Howard Gardner. On a research done between 20-30 people, the result has shown that the people who have good EQ have more chance of success comparing to the people who have high IQ.

Some studies has been done on the connection between learning a new language and the enhancement of EQ. Amazingly, it was seen that the children who have grown up in a bilingual environment or those who started learning a new language at young ages (4-10) had a higher level of EQ comparing to those who were dominant at only one language.
People with high level of EQ are more likely to be successful and have better job opportunities, because they can communicate much more easily with other people. As a result having high level of EQ is one the most important elements of success in each one of our lives.
Since most of the scientists believe that learning a second language is much easier in the childhood, (because of the flexibility of the mind in young ages) it is recommended to start learning a new language at childhood (between ages 4-10). So children could grow up with better EQ.
